Demonstration of the capabilities of the Serbian Army "SHIELD 2022"

The demonstration of the capabilities of the Serbian Army "SHIELD 2022" was held today at the military airfield "Colonel-Pilot Milenko Pavlovic" in Batajnica. The demonstration was attended by the President of the Serbia and Supreme Commander of the Serbian Army Aleksandar Vucic, the Prime Minister of Serbia Ana Brnabic, the Deputy Prime Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic, President of the National Assembly Ivica Dacic, Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Army General Milan Mojsilovic and other distinguished guests, including the top management of J.P. Jugoimport-SDPR.

A part of capabilities of the Serbian Army armed and equipped with the state-of-the-art weapons and military equipment from the production program of the Defence Industry of Serbia, imports and weapons in development, were presented at the exhibition.

More than 1,000 members of the Ministry of Defense and the Serbian Army were involved in the demonstration, including more than 300 weapons and military equipment, and over 60 planes, helicopters and remotely controlled aircraft.

On this occasion, demonstration was given of the disembarking of infantry units from 8x8 multi-purpose combat armored vehicles "LAZAR 3", as well as special operations teams from 4x4 combat armored vehicle "MILOS" with fire support of remote controlled weapon stations (RCWS) caliber 12.7 mm. These combat armored vehicles are from the production program of Jugoimport-SDPR, and have been in the service of the Armed Forces for a long time.

The artillery fire support was performed with the battery of self-propelled howitzers "NORA B52", which are also produced by Jugoimport-SDPR and have been in the service of the Serbian Army for a long time.

In addition to the unveiling of the FK-3 system to the public, a total of more than 300 weapons systems and military equipment in the arsenal of the Serbian Army have been presented at the static part of the demonstration, along with weapons being developed for introduction into service. According to the number of exhibited weapons, this exhibition was almost twice as big as the tactical-technical assembly that was held last year at Usce park.

The fighter aircraft "Mig-29", attack aircraft "Orao" as well as trainer/combat aircraft "G-4" and "Lasta" were displayed at the Batajnica airfield, as well as Mi-17, Mi-8, Mi-35, X-145 and „Gazelle" helicopters, and a Chinese remote-controlled aircraft "CH-92".

The fans of military combat vehicles had the opportunity to see tanks M-84, M-84AB1 and T-72MS, combat vehicles M-80, M-80AB1, M-80AB2, BRDM-2M, armoured fighting vehicles, command post carriers and "HUMMER" vehicles and artillery and missile systems "NORA B-52", "Gvozdika" and "Plamen S". Among the Air Defense missile systems that are already in use by the Serbian Army, the upgraded "Neva" and "Kub" systems were exhibited, whose upgrade is performed by Jugoimport.

A large number of weapons from serial production of the Serbian defense industry intended for the Serbian Army were placed on display, including 8x8 multi-purpose combat armored vehicles "LAZAR 3", 4x4 combat armored vehicles "Milos", self-propelled gun-howitzers "Nora B-52", PASARS systems, digitized "Oganj", armored personnel carrier vehicles of the BOV OT family, 6x6 MRAP vehicles M-20, "Little Milos", unmanned aerial vehicles "Pegasus" etc.

The products of the Serbian Defense Industry Group and other companies producing weapons and military equipment from Serbia, as well as weapons and equipment of special units, were presented as special thematic units within the exhibit.
