Serbian Army completed the “Lightening Strike” exercise

One of the largest joint tactical exercises with live shooting in the last few decades, the "Lightning Strike 2021", was successfully completed today at the temporary firing ground "Pester", involving more than 2,300 members of the Serbian Army.

The "Lightning Strike 2021" exercise commenced on June 15 and was carried out at eight firing grounds throughout Serbia, and the crown of these activities is the segment held today in Pester in the presence of the President of the Republic of Serbia and the Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces Aleksandar Vucic, the top government and military officials of Serbia, the management of Jugoimport-SDPR J.P., the diplomatic corps and KFOR commander in Kosovo.

The exercise in Pester was carried out by units of the Land Forces, Air Force and Air Defense, the 72nd Special Operations Brigade and 63rd Parachute Brigade, and involved tanks, combat vehicles, artillery systems and weapons, aircrafts, helicopters, remotely piloted aircraft, Air Defense systems and the infantry and special units weapons, in order to test the operational capabilities to respond to challenges, risks and threats to the security of the citizens of the Republic of Serbia.

On that occasion, the Land Forces also fired from the weapons from the production program of Jugoimport-SDPR J.P, namely: 155 mm Nora B-52 self-propelled howitzer battalion, 8x8 multi-purpose armored combat vehicles "Lazar 3" equipped with 12.7 mm machine guns and 4x4 armored combat vehicles "Milos".
