President Vucic attends firing demonstration of modernized and newly introduced weapons and systems at “Pasuljanske livade” proving ground

The President of the Republic and Commander-in-Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces, Aleksandar Vucic, together with Minister of Defence Bratislav Gasic and Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, General Milan Mojsilovic, attended today the firing demonstration of modernized and newly introduced weapons and systems at the “Pasuljanske livade” Military Complex.

Today’s firing demonstration at the military proving ground was also attended by the Prime Minister of Serbia Djuro Macut, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Internal Affairs Ivica Dacic, Milorad Dodik, the Serb Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Zeljka Cvijanovic, President of National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska Nenad Stevandic, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Srpska Zeljko Budimir, as well as members of the collegiums of the Minister of Defence and the Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces.  

On this occasion, President Vucic stated that the firing demonstration at Pasuljanske livade has been conducted at a considerably higher level than previously witnessed. Commenting on the employment of drones compared to earlier exercises, he particularly noted the significance of the Lanius-X loitering munition, describing it as a major capability enhancement for the Serbian Armed Forces.

He noted that the Vihor interceptor drone and the Gavran unmanned aerial vehicle were also presented and are slated to enter full serial production, adding that the combat vehicles and tanks also executed highly effective firing demonstration using the latest projectiles and missiles.

At the beginning of the demonstration, air defence artillery-missile units demonstrated their capabilities using PASARS M-16, Pancir-S1 and Mistral 3+ systems.  

The demonstration continued with the participation of MiG-29SM and Orao J-22M aircraft, which demonstrated the deployment of advanced long-range precision-guided munitions, including the H-29 air-to-surface missile, as well as the LS-6 and FT-6 glide bombs. Fire support was provided by Mi-35M and Mi-35P combat helicopters firing Ataka missiles and employing 30 mm cannon, while the CH-92 unmanned aerial vehicle demonstrated its reconnaissance and precision-strike capabilities. The aviation phase concluded with operations conducted by H-145 helicopters.

Modern artillery systems demonstrated enhanced firepower through the operational deployment of digitalized Oganj M17, 155 mm Nora B-52 M15 self-propelled gun-howitzers and ALAS missile system.

Infantry and mechanized units demonstrated the firepower of Lazar 3M combat vehicles.

A dedicated segment of the presentation was focused on the development of the Serbian Armed Forces’ robotic units including unmanned ground platforms, heavy drones, and loitering munitions of various ranges. The demonstration featured the Milos-N and Milos-B2 remote controlled weapon stations, as well as unmanned aerial platforms Osica, Komarac 2A, Vrabac-bomber, IKA-20 and Vihor.  

The operational capabilities of one of the most advanced short-range combat drones, the Lanius-X, equipped with built-in artificial intelligence were presented for the first time. Thanks to its optical and laser sensors, it can operate indoors without a GPS signal, representing one of the most technologically advanced solutions for special operations and urban warfare.
