“Victor 2026”, joint tactical exercise with live firing completed

High-Level Visitors’ Day for the “Victor 2026” joint tactical exercise with live firing was held today at the Temporary Training Area “Pester”. The event was attended by the President of the Republic and Commander-in-Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces, Aleksandar Vucic, together with Minister of Defence Bratislav Gasic and Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, General Milan Mojsilovic.

Today’s exercise was also attended by Prime Minister of Serbia Djuro Macut, Presidents of the National Assembly  and Government of the Republic of Srpska Nenad Stevandic and Savo Minic, Ministers in the Government of the Republic of Serbia, Milorad Dodic, the management of Yugoimport-SDPR and other distinguished guests.

The military exercise was conducted jointly by the units of Army, Air Force and Air Defence, as well as Special Forces and Military Police of the Serbian Armed Forces. The objective of the “Victor 2026” exercise is to further enhance the competence and operational capabilities of commands and units in planning and conducting combat operations, organizing joint operations, coordination and ensuring force protection. Newly introduced and modernized weapons and defence equipment were employed in execution of tactical and live-firing activities. The exercise, conducted under the theme “Execution of an Offensive Operation”, involved approximately 2000 members of the Serbian Armed Forces and over 500 key defence systems.

Equipment from the development and production program of Yugoimport-SDPR actively participated in various segments of the exercise, including the 155 mm “Nora” B52 and “Nora NG” self-propelled gun-howitzers, “Lazar 3” and “Lazar 3M” multi-role armoured combat vehicles, “Milos” and “Milos 2” armoured combat vehicles and others.

In order to provide fire support for the offensive, artillery and missile systems were employed. The artillery group consisted of two batteries of 155 mm self-propelled gun-howitzers Nora B52 and Nora NG, and the “Oganj” M24.

Special forces teams used “Milos 4x4”armoured combat vehicles to approach a populated area and neutralize targets, while an infantry platoon operating in “Lazar-3M” combat vehicles engaged the enemy with all available weapons in order to penetrate deep into enemy territory and establish supremacy in the attack.

The “Victor 2026” exercise confirmed high level of competence, readiness and professionalism of the members of the Serbian Armed Forces, as well as their capability to effectively employ new and modernized weapons and systems. At the same time, it demonstrated a high degree of coordination and joint action in responding to contemporary challenges, risks and threats to the security of the Republic of Serbia.
