Serbian Armed Forces infantry units—trained to conduct combat operations in all conditions—are being intensively equipped and trained to execute tasks on the modern battlefield using new weapons and military equipment.

The units are training in the areas surrounding their home stations and at a multiservice training area, where the tactical and firearms proficiency of their professional personnel is being evaluated.

A major step forward in infantry units’ combat capabilities has been made through the introduction of “Lazar 3” multirole armoured combat vehicles into the service, as well as new small arms, optoelectronic systems and ballistic protection equipment.

One of the new systems equipped by these units is the 40mm/6 M-11 PD-51 revolver-type grenade launcher, produced by the domestic defence industry and designed to destroy and neutralize exposed and partially covered personnel, as well as to disable weapons, artillery systems and unarmoured motor vehicles.

By introducing the revolver-type grenade launcher into service, in combination with high-mobility vehicles and new support systems, the capabilities for powerful, sudden and rapid engagement by maneuver units have been enhanced.
