Small-Arms Ammunition Factory Corner-Stone Laying Ceremony in Uzici

The latest and one of the most significant investments of Jugoimport-SDPR J.P. is the future Small-Arms Ammunition Factory in Uzići near Požega, for which the corner stone was laid on 26 April 2016 by Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić and Acting Director of Jugoimport-SDPR J.P. Jugoslav Petković.

The future Small-Arms Ammunition Factory investor is Complex Combat Systems Factory (Borbeni složeni sistemi- BSS) as an entity of Jugoimport-SDPR J.P., while the building work will be performed by PMC Inženjering.

The value of the investment is 89,596,000 EUR, and the factory is expected to employ 35o workers in the first phase.

In the first and the second phase, the manufacturing program will include small caliber ammunition 5.56 mm,  7.62 mm and 9 mm, while annual output is estimated at 140 million rounds. According to the construction schedule, the first and the second phase are to be finished by July 2017.

The third phase, expected to start in 2018, should include production of large caliber ammunition, i.e. 12.7 mm when additional 100 workers would be employed.  Building of the third stage is planned to be completed in 2020.

In view of the fact that current capacities are insufficient, this new investment will increase the scope and range of the Serbian defense industry.
