The “Power of Unity” Military Parade Held
The grand military parade “Power of Unity” was held today near the Palace of Serbia in New Belgrade. The event was attended by the President of Serbia and Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces, Aleksandar Vučić, Minister of Defense Bratislav Gašić, and the Parade Commander, Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, Gen. Milan Mojsilović.
Today’s military parade was attended by the President of the United Arab Emirates, a delegation from the Kingdom of Bahrein, the Crown Prince of Dubai, national assembly speakers and prime ministers of Serbia and Republika Srpska, members of parliament of Montenegro, Deputy Prime Ministers of the Republic of North Macedonia, the Minister of Defense of Hungary, the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azarbaijan, the Chief of Joint Staff of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Chief of Staff of the French Air and Space Force, the Commander of the Ohio National Guard, as well as the members of the collegiums of the Serbian Minister of Defense and the Chief of the General Staff, management of Yugoimport-SDPR, representatives of the diplomatic corps and military diplomats, and other esteemed officials.
After the artillery gun salute, students of military schools march-past first carrying a 300 m long flag of Serbia, while the Serbian national anthem was intoned.
The visitors had the opportunity to see the marching-past of the echelons of units of all arms and services in the Serbian Army, cadets of the Military Academy, vehicle-mounted units and vessels of the Riverine Flottila. The program included demonstration of the members of the Special-Purpose Military Police Detachment “Cobras”, a precision drill display, known as “egzercir”, performed by Guardsmen, and a parachute jump of the members of the 63rd Parachute Brigade.
The parade continued with the echelon of vehicle-mounted units. The visitors could see a part of the state-of-the-art armaments and defense equipment introduced in the units of Serbian Defense Forces, including part of the materiel produced by local defense industry.
Among large number of armaments and defense equipment, those drawing special attention were the materiel coming from the development and production program of Yugoimport-SDPR:
- “Alexander the Unifier” vehicles belong to a family of 4x4 multi-purpose tactical armored vehicles in two configurations - as a tactical command vehicle of the Raven system unit, and as a platform for an 8-container launcher of the Raven loitering munition, which shown for the first time,
- Armored Fighting Vehicle “Miloš”
- Armored Fighting Vehicle “Miloš 2” and “Miloš 2” with the “Nova” system
- Multi-Purpose Infantry Fighting Vehicles “Lazar 3K”, “Lazar 3M” and “Lazar 3”
- 155 mm Self-Propelled Gun-Howitzer NORA-B52 in versions M15 and NORA B52 NG
- Infantry Fighting Vehicle “Lazanski”
- 155 mm/52 Self-Propelled Artillery Weapon „Аlexandar”,
- Self-Propelled Modular Multiple Launch Rocket System – 122/262 mm MLRS „Тamnava“,
- Long- Range Self-Propelled Modular Multiple Launch Rocket System “Šumadija/Vila"
Approximately 10,000 personnel took part in the parade, and around 2,500 pieces of armaments and defense equipment were showcased. Numerous spectators had the opportunity to see more than 600 vehicles, 70 aircrafts, and 20 vessels.
