Demonstration of the Serbian Armed Forces Capabilities “Granite 2023“

A demonstration of capabilities of the Serbian Armed Forces “Granite 2023” was organized at the military airfield “Colonel-pilot Milenko Pavlović” in Batajnica on the occasion of the Serbian Armed Forces Day, in the presence of the President of the Republic and Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces, Aleksandar Vučić, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, Miloš Vučević and Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, General Milan Mojsilović.

   
The demonstration to mark the Serbian Armed Forces Day was also attended by the Hungarian Prime Minister, Viktor Orban, the Serbian Member and Chairwoman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Željka Cvijanović, the President of the Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, the Hungarian Minster of Defence, Kristof Szalay-Bobrovniczky, the President of the Serbian National Assembly, Vladimir Orlić, the Serbian Prime Minister, Ana Brnabić  and many other honorable guests, including the management of Jugoimport-SDPR.

Тhe display of the Serbian Armed Forces’ capabilities involved more than 5,000 members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Army, around 2,300 weapons and military equipment and more than 60 aircraft.

The visitors had the opportunity to see the state-of-the-art weapons and military equipment in service of the Serbian Armed Forces, as well as a part of the equipment being developed by the Serbian Defence Industry.

A new version of multi-purpose armored vehicle entitled „Miloš 2“ was presented for the first time to the state leadership, featuring:

  • Much greater total load bearing capacity of the drive axles – 9 tons per axle, compared to the basic version of the vehicle;
  • Increased transportation capacities: it is longer by  0.7 m, and a little wider and higher, thus enabling transportation of 10 permanent and embarking crew members as opposed to 8 in the previous version;
  • Much higher level of ballistic protection – protection on all sides against armored piercing rounds 12.7mm, and
  • Possibility of integration of various weapon stations with powerful armament, based on guns in calibers from 20mm (shown in the existing model) to 30 mm and other weapons as well (machine guns, grenade launchers and anti-tank guided missiles), and other equipment and weapons (self-propelled mortar, surveillance system etc.)

A notable place was occupied by products from the Jugoimport’s production program utilized by the Serbian Armed Forces – armored combat vehicles “Milosh” and “Lazar 3” and self-propelled gun-howitzer 155mm NORA, as well as combat vehicles modernized by Jugoimport – BOV M11, BOV M15 and M15A in service of the Ministry of Interior.

In addition, other products from the development and production program of Jugoimport were presented, including: modular long range self-propelled multiple rocket launcher “Šumadija”, modular self-propelled multiple rocket launcher 122/262mm “Tamnava”, infantry fighting vehicle “Lazanski” 8x8 with RCWS 57mm, converted gun130/155mm, howitzer 105mm, self-propelled howitzer 122mm “Soko”, self-propelled howitzer 105mm SH-4, RCWS 30/2mm based on the conversion of the anti-aircraft gun “Praga”, rocket system “Nova” and loitering ammunition “Gavran”.
