„DEFENSE OF FREEDOM“ showed the strength of Serbia, Nis

On the Victory Day, the Serbian Armed Forces and the Ministry of Interior demonstrated their capability and strength in Nis, on Friday 10 May 2019.

The parade named „THE DEFENSE OF FREEDOM" was attended by the President of the Republic of Serbia and the Commander-in-Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces Aleksandar Vucic, the Chairman of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Presidency Milorad Dodik, the Speaker of the Serbian National Parliament Maja Gojkovic, the President of the Serb Republic Zeljka Cvijanovic, the Minister for National Defense of Greece Evangelos Apostolakis, the Chair of the Federation Council Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Konstantin Kosachev, a delegation of Russian Armed Forces headed by Deputy Commander of the Western Military District Lt. General Igor Seritzki, the Serbian Minister of Defense Aleksandar Vulin, the Vice-President of the Government and Minister of Interior Nebojsa Stefanovic and other Cabinet members, Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces General Milan Mojsilovic, the management of J. P. Jugoimport-SDPR, representatives of the religious communities, the military-diplomatic core and institutions, visitors from various countries and other esteemed guests.

More than 4,000 soldiers and police officers took part in the procession, alongside 300 combat and other vehicles and systems, and about 40 aircraft. The parade was preceded by days-long preparations and practicing.

A column of new generation artillery weapons that meet the harshest requirements of modern-day weaponry were presented: self-propelled gun howitzer „NORA" 155 mm B-52, self-propelled launcher „SUMADIJA" and rocket system „ALAS".

In addition, the procession included more than 20 armored wheeled vehicles LAZAR 3 (equipped with the 12.7 mm RCWS, 30 mm cannon and rocket system RALAS) and „MILOS".
