Belgrade Liberation Day - Batajnica Air Base

On the occasion of the 73rd anniversary of the liberation of Belgrade in World War II, a military review „Freedom 2017‟ held at the military airport in Batajnica staged some of the operational capabilities of Serbian Army, and the reached level of development of Serbian armaments and defense equipment.

The President of Serbia, Mr. Aleksandar Vucic, the President of the Republic of Srpska, Mr. Milorad Dodik, the President of National Parliament, Ms. Maja Gojkovic, the Prime Minister of Serbia, Ms. Ana Brnabic, government and army top management of the Republic of Serbia, Defense Minister of the Russian Federation, Mr. Sergei Shoigu, representatives of diplomatic corps in our country, foreign guests and other esteemed dignitaries.

The attendees had the opportunity to see six Russian fighters MIG-29, but also 130 vehicles of various types, 30 airplanes and helicopters, and the latest products of Serbian defense industry. Also, there was a demonstration of the special forces troops equipped as per „1500‟ concept - consisting of the state-of-the-art weapons, protective equipment and optical sights.

Serbian army also presented the motor vehicle echelon of the rapid reaction forces, including multirole armored 8x8 vehicles „Lazar‟. Apart from armament and equipment for Serbian Armed Forces units, the visitors could see some of the products from the production range of Serbian defense industry and Jugoimport-SDPR J.P. (such as „Nora‟ self-propelled howitzer, „Sumadija‟ modular rocket system etc.).

The above program involved more than 2.200 members of the MoD and Serbian Armed Forces, supported by the representatives of the defense industry of Serbia and Jugoimport-SDPR J.P.
