Students of Belgrade Faculty of Mechanical Engineering Visited Standing Exhibition in Nikinci
Students of the second year of bachelor academic studies at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Belgrade, attending the Classical Armament Design elective course, have visited the standing exhibition of armaments and defense equipment (ADE) of Yugoimport-SDPR in Nikinci.
The academic visit was opened with a video presentation dedicated to the R&D sector, with special reference to research and development of complex combat systems. Students have had the opportunity to get familiar with the method of resolving the contemporary challenges in the field of defense industry, as well as with the latest products developed by Yugoimport-SDPR in cooperation with local industry.

Future mechanical engineers have shown great interest in the topics related to development, testing, and manufacture of ADE products, but also in the possibilities for professional growth and career advancement in this field of work.

The students were particularly impressed by the round through the exhibition rooms, where they could grasp, at one place, the whole range of products and technological capabilities of local defense industry. By use of interactive exhibition guiding, they were introduced to various types of artillery and rocket systems, combat vehicles, ammunition, protective equipment, and energy materials.

When going through the open-air part of the exhibition, they could see some of the most significant combat systems – 155 mm self-propelled howitzer NORA, armored vehicles Lazar 8x8 and Milosh, and the multi-purpose tactical armored vehicle Alexander the Unifier.

Department of Weapon Systems of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Yugoimport-SDPR have been successfully cooperating for years in providing various forms of professional and educational support. The academic visits such as these give the students the opportunity to broaden their theoretical knowledge by gaining an immediate insight in the latest engineering systems and modern technologies in the field of defense industry.
