Ever since the idea for establishing the armaments and defense equipment exhibition was conceived in the Serbian Ministry of Defense and the Belgrade Fair, Yugoimport-SDPR has been fully supporting its implementation. This year, for the third time in a row, we shall take up the role of a co-organizer, making full arrangements for this manifestation. PARTNER 2007 Exhibition is an opportunity to show to the domestic and international public all the results and accomplishments of the Serbian defense industry, where Yugoimport-SDPR will present itself as its integrator and promoter.

We believe that PARTNER will not only grow into a prestiguous regional event and, as such, be included in the calendar of international defense exhibitions, but that it will also generate further boost of export, which is the main objective of our marketing and development strategy. Increased exports would then lead to greater accummulation needed for modernization of the technological base of our military and industrial complex. Thus promoted and strengthened defense industry would be capable of attracting a considerable number of potential partners from abroad, both the ones coming as purchasers of arms and defense technologies and
those whose main goal is to start joint development and coproduction projects. Our strong points are tradition, experience and references we have in independent development and production of a wide range of defense products, including most sophisticated weapon systems in accordance with NATO and Eastern standards. They also include long and vast experience, out standing experts concentrated in the Military Technical Institute, institutions of higher education and other research
and development institutions, as well as a sound technological base in the Serbian defense industry. This is why special attention is paid to the education and growth of expert personnel.
Yugoimport-SDPR's development and marketing strate gy has been showing good results. In the past few years we recorded a steady increase in sales. This scope is still below our full potential, but we hope that persistance in this strategy which calls for considerable organizational and financial efforts, will soon take us to the target position on the global defense market. In addition, Yugoimport-SDPR is changing its basic mission: from a purely commercial and marketing company it is growing into a system rounding up the complex processes of market research, development, production, promotion and sales, with the emphasis placed on complex defense systems - and all this by integrating its own capacities and those of the Ministry of Defense, Serbian defense companies and other technological partners from the country and abroad.
Yugoimport-SDPR and Serbian defense companies will have a common stand at the Exhibition, but each will display the weapon systems from its own development and production program.
We believe that the systems displayed at the Exhibition fit perfectly in the planned concept for the technical modernization of the Serbian Armed Forces. They would be very important in outfitting the armed forces, because their basic output performances will make a considerable improvement in terms of response time, mobility, combat efficiency and overall firepower compared to the current state of the armed forces, with the considerable decrease in the number of weapon systems and their operators.
We must put a special emphasis on the role of modern conventional and rocket artillery, highly automated longrange self-propelled weapon system NORA using projectiles with the range of 44 and 65 km, command and information artillery and combat vehicle system, universal opto-electronic platform, guided missile system ALAS used against tanks and other long range ground targets, and subsystems for
integration with combat vehicles. These products, developed and suited to the modern netcentric battlefield fully match the current trends in fitting out the armed forces of the countries at the highest technological level.
Defense Exhibition PARTNER 2007 will take place at the same time as the celebration of Yugoimport-SDPR's 58 years of successful business operation. Therefore, on June 28, Yugoimport-SDPR will make a presentation of its business
activities.
